New family

I have had Scully now for two nights. He is an absolute dream. Right after Linda left he was definitely nervous shaking and sitting by the door she walked out of .... after a few sweet "get in your bed"s he got in his bed and made himself comfortable. It took a few hours for him to warm up to me, which was not long at all... I was expecting it to take a few days. He really started warming up when I took him for a ride in the car. He sat on my lap and looked out the window. When Mike got home he barked and growled, but quickly calmed down when Mike just left him alone. He sat on the couch with me for a couple hours that first night watching the Dodgers and listening to the "voice of the Dodgers" and the man he is named after Vin Scully. He quickly claimed his blanket and made himself comfortable. He is so well behaved. He has made no mess in the house he hasn't barked except for the few times he has been unsure about people and the best part is he sleeps in his own bed through the night without any problems. I can wait to take him out this weekend and let him play. Scully and I are going to pick out a couple toys and his crate this weekend... i will have an update after our first outing together.

  1. Bless you Maddie! I am the lady who watched sadly as this little guy lived on a balcony all alone 24-7 across the way from me. My heart was warmed when I got him out of that situation and he went to his foster home and it just SOARED this morning when I discovered he has gone to his furever home. I am so glad you decided to keep up a blog for him so that I can continue to see what is going on in his new life - one he so richly deserves. He is a pretty famous little fellow with lots of my friends and family, too so they read up on him all the time! I have a 6-year old (just had her BD Monday) little girl Chi who is the love of my life. I couldn't take Scully (or Simba when I met him) so I am so pleased that he has found a home that I know will be just perfect for all involved. Congratulations and enjoy the journey together - my little girl (Cami) has changed my life and is the best thing that ever happened to me! Fondly, Cami's Mommy

  2. Maddie, I'm sure Scully will become an avid Dodgers fan too! As long as he can cuddle up on your lap with his blankee, he'll be one happy camper! BTW, he likes wearing sweaters - do they make Dodger sweaters?
